Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the third quarter of calendar year 2012 totalled 3,803,038 units, an increase of 9.9% from the same quarter in the previous year, according to the latest statistics from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
This outcome reflects expanded local production worldwide, except in Africa, during the quarter under review, says JAMA.
The growth in local production worldwide is also reflected in the cumulative total for January to September 2012, which stands at 12,038,868 units, up 21.0% from the same three-quarter period in 2011.
