Doublestar tires SmartWay verified

Doublestar Tire Corp. has achieved SmartWay verification for the all-position, drive and trailer versions of its DSR radial tire line.

Rancho Cucamonga-based Doublestar Tire, the U.S. distribution arm of China's Qingdao Doublestar Tyre Co. Ltd., said the tires an be purchased by container load directly from China or from its U.S. warehouse locations in Memphis, Tenn., or Rancho Cucamonga.

The SmartWay-verified tires are the DSR266 All Position, DSR728 Drive and DSR116 Trailer tires, Doublestar said.

Doublestar is offering the DSR266 in 11 sizes —11R22.5, 11R24.5, LP22.5, LP24.5, 225/75R17.5, 235/75R17.5, 24570R19.5, 265/70R19.5, 275,70R22.5, 275/80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5; the DSR728 in five sizes — 11R22.5, 11R24.5, LP22.5, LP24.5; and the DSR116 in eight sizes — 215/75R17.5, 235/75R17.5, 245/70R19.5, 265/70R19.5, 11R22.5, 11R24.5, LP22.5 and LP24.5

To be verified as a SmartWay product under the Environmental Protection Agency's program, a tire has to demonstrate it can improve fuel economy by 3 percent or more relative to previous versions and can reduce NOx emissions, Doublestar said.
