Tire machinery producer VMI Group is planning a “major” expansion of its manufacturing and research/development capacities at its home base in Epe and at its facilities in China.
"The expansions attest to our long-term commitment to meeting the demands of our customers, and will allow us to raise the bar for our customers even higher," said VMI President and CEO Harm Voorman. "Our ongoing efforts to stay ahead of the competition have inspired us to develop and build the best-performing machines in the world."
The new factory building in Epe will add about 45,000 square feet of assembly floor space, and the new R&D and Engineering office will add workspace for 150 to 200 engineers, VMI said.
The company did not elaborate on its plans for China or say what it’s budgeting for the projects.
VMI Holland B.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of TKH Group N.V.
Earlier this year VMI was selected the Tire Industry Supplier of the Year at the Tire Technology Expo & Conference in Cologne, Germany.
