Bridgestone has been selected to work with Volkswagen under the new "Future Automotive Supply Tacks" initiative (called FAST). Bridgestone is the only tyre supplier in the prestigious list of 44 FAST companies, representing what Volkswagen considers to be the outstanding partners in their respective sectors.
Reacting to this nomination, Mr. Franco Annunziato, President and CEO of Bridgestone Europe commented: "Bridgestone has set up a new global structure that frees up our capacity to innovate and brings developments to market faster. We are immensely proud to be selected as a Volkswagen Group privileged partner; we look forward to working ever closer within the FAST programme to help provide solutions for the vehicles of tomorrow.” Under the FAST initiative launched in February 2015, the Volkswagen Group is working with selected suppliers to respond to current challenges and the digital transformation taking place in the automotive industry. The aim is to synchronize Volkswagen global strategies with FAST suppliers at an early stage in order to successfully implement technical innovations even faster and complete vehicle projects worldwide even more efficiently. Suppliers are chosen for outstanding performance based on extensive evaluation and a systematic selection process. The FAST nomination follows Bridgestone's selection in July 2015 for a Volkswagen Group Award – recognition given by Volkswagen to a small number of international suppliers distinguished by their special innovative capabilities and very high reliability.
