In terms of Qingdao Municipal Construction and Planning as well as the requirements to maintain the rubber machinery industry and meet the demands for the general as- sembly of subway tunnel boring machine, Qingdao Beihai Me- chanical Equipment Co., Ltd. resolved to invest 155.43 Million Yuan to conduct the relocation and construction.
The new site is located at Chunyang Road, Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone, covering an area of 53.2 mu. The steel structure plant and office building are under construction now. The project has 160 employees, of which 100 are manufacturing workers and 60 are office workers. After completion, it will form the production capacity of 10 sets of subway tunnel boring machine and supporting and 10 rubber machinery production lines per year.
Qingdao Beihai Mechanical Equipment is a professional plant specialized in designing and manufacturing all sizes of constant tension multilayer assembly forming machine production line and vulcanizing production line for the use of all kinds of conveyor belts. Built in August 1983 and affiliated with Qingdao Beihai Shipyard, it is a military industrial enterprise held by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Due to the construction need for Olympic venues, Qingdao Beihai Mechanical Equipment moved from Yan’erdao Road, Shinan District to Banghai Middle Road, Sifang District in 2004. However, the land was expropriated by government again for construction of Qingdao North Railway Station in 2012.
