AQSIQ Will Carry Out Spot Check of Import and Export Commodities Not Listed in Catalogue Such as Tires

On April 15, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as AQSIQ) released No. 38 Announcement in 2016, deciding to carry out 7-month supervision and spot check on import and export commodities except for those that must be inspected by inspection and quarantine institution, including exported tires, imported condoms, children’s shoes, etc.

Since August 15, 2013, auto tires, off-the-road tires, motorcycle and bicycle tires, inner tubes, latex products such as condoms, rubber plastic footwear, etc. had been no longer listed in the export commodity inspection catalogue.

The supervision and spot check work is specifically implemented by the local inspection and quarantine institution; the sites for spot check of import commodities are import ports, import commodity distributing centers and the location of the unit receiving and using the commodities; and the sites for spot check of export commodities are manufacturing enterprises, export ports and export commodities distributing centers.
