As the new year starts, a new member is added into the signed laboratory of China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA). According to the declaration by the company, after the assessment of experts and the verification of General Association, Wanli Rubber Tire Research Institute (Guangzhou) was considered to be the signed Testing and Examination Center of China Rubber Industry Association. Its professional service direction is toward the testing and service for tire and rubber products. By now, there are up to four signed laboratories of China Rubber Industry Association. Since over one year ago, continuous efforts have been made and favorable progress achieved by the above-mentioned signed laboratories in terms of their outward service work.

Other three signed laboratories of CRIA are respectively EVE Rubber Institute, Bekaert (China) Technology Research & Development Co., Ltd. and CATARC Yancheng Automotive Proving Ground Co., Ltd. These signed laboratories have provided various outward services in accordance with their own professional service directions, such as undertaking the testing work of imported compound rubber entrusted by the Customs, taking the lead in finishing the formulation and revision of international, national and industrial standards, as well as completing the verification of the capability of laboratories within the industry and the contrast experiment work. With the continuous efforts made by the signed laboratories and the joining of new members, the work content will be constantly enriched, operation gradually standardized, services unceasingly extended, and forms more diversified.

It is known that the signed laboratory exists as a form of service launched by China Rubber Industry As-

sociation both to meet the society’s increasing demand of high-level, personalized, authoritative and fair testing, and to strengthen service function and enhance its own capability building. At the ninth Membership Representative Conference, Deng Yali, President of CRIA, raised new requirements on the signed laboratory plan, that is to integrate the resource testing capability within the industry, optimize the guarantee system of testing and detecting technology, push forward the testing and detecting technology alliance, strengthen third-party testing in the industry and the capability building of public quality and technology service system, make plans on the building of signed laboratory network, exert every signed laboratory’s specialty in their own professional service fields, and achieve the strengths of overall service and sharing of information resources.

According to Xiong Weihua, Secretary General of the Specialized Rubber Testing Committee, the principle of high starting point and high standard will be adhered to during the process of implementing the signed laboratory plan as is required by the General Association. A contract will be signed only with the laboratory that is mature. Dynamic management will be conducted in strict accordance with marketalized operation. The lifelong system will not be implemented. The plan will be overseen by the society in order to achieve orderly development. The next step of the work is to pay close attention to and discuss the development of the signed laboratories managing non-tire rubber products and regional ones focusing on engineering R&D, so as to provide the industry with more comprehensive and distinctive testing service conditions.
