“Liquid Gold” Creating First Batch of Top Tires in the World

Recently, Spanish IDIADA Company issued written test certification report for the tire products of multiple dimensions and specifications of Sailun Jinyu Group to certify that the indexes of wet-skid resistance property, rolling resistance property and wear resistance property of the tires reach world leading level and Sailun Jinyu becomes the first tire enterprise able to produce the tires with low rolling resistance, highest wet-skid resistance and excellent wear resistance in the world. The reason why these overall property indexes of these tires reach the highest quality grade in the world at present is that Sailun Jinyu adopts EVEC new rubber material, “liquid gold” invented by EVE Rubber Institute.

EVEC is a new material originally and independently innovated by China, which is called “liquid gold” by International Tire Technology, an internationally famous journal; at present, relevant core technologies have applied for 35 patents for invention and 9 international patents (PCT). Without changing the original tire structure and pattern, only the use of EVEC as thread rubber can enable the overall property indexes of the tire to reach the current highest quality grade in the world. EVEC has been the only tire tread rubber which can improve the rolling resistance, wet-skid resistance, wear resistance and manoeuvrability of the tires and make various indexes reach the best level in the world so far.

The test index of IDIADA Company for the tires manufactured by Sailun Jinyu with EVEC was that the wet-skid resistance property all reached A-grade standard of EU Labeling Act; after road test, the rolling resistance index of the tires reached B grade and even above, the wear resistance index was largely improved by 15% compared with that of traditional tires, and the overall property reached world advanced level. This marks that Chinese tire industry quickly realizes historical improvement of product quality property after obtaining breakthrough in new materials and new processes.

It is learned that EU Labeling Regulation divides the wet-skid resistance and rolling resistance of the tires into 7 grades from A to G. Wet-skid resistance property is one of the most important properties of the tires, which represents the safety of tire use, for example, the braking distance of A-grade tire is 18 meters shorter than that of F-grade tire at the speed of 80km/hour. However, as for passenger car, if the rolling resistance of the tire is improved from G grade to B grade, the car can reduce 560 liters of fuel consumption for driving of 100,000km, calculated as per the oil price of each liter of 6 Yuan, the car owner can save the oil cost of 3,360 Yuan and each tire can save 840 Yuan on the average.

Tire performance mainly depends on the performance of rubber materials and design of tire structure and pattern. EVE Rubber Institute started to carry out research and development of synthetic rubber wet mixing technology from 2013, and EVEC is the synthetic rubber/white carbon black master batch prepared with continuous liquid phase method. Compared with traditional size, its characteristics are simplified size manufacturing process, low energy consumption, better dispersion of filler in rubber and good processing property. Because of high interaction between rubber and filler and low interaction between fillers, the dynamic hysteresis loss of rolling resistance of characteristic tire is low, the dynamic hysteresis loss of wet-skid resistance of characteristic tire is high and the reinforcement factor of wear resistance of characteristic tire is high. Meanwhile, its manufacturing process is more simplified and the mixing energy consumption can be reduced by over 20% (each ton of mixed rubber compound can save the electricity of over 80kw/h on the average), and the final performance of the material is obviously improved compared with traditional dry mixing rubber.

According to information, now EVEC has finished the phases of lab research and pilot plant test certification, and its industrialization work is being carried out in “High-performance Rubber New Material Circular Economy Green Integration Project” in Dongjiakou Economic Zone, Qingdao City. At that time, its industrialized application surely will accelerate upgrading of the products of Chinese tire enterprises, endow the tire products with higher added value, fully embody the leading function of technological innovation in industrial transformation and promote structural reform of supply side.
