On October 19, the MIIT released the publicity list of 2018 “100 Group Standards Application Demonstration Projects”, with 104 group standards selected, including Green Footwear Materials Limited Material Requirements.

The Green Footwear Materials Limited Material Requirements series of group standards was issued by CRIA on June 20, 2017, and implemented from October 1, 2017. This series of standards partly draws on EU REACH regulations, US CPSIA and other regulatory requirements, and pushes the requirements of national mandatory standards to the technical requirements for raw materials for footwear simultaneously. Compared with the EU footwear ecological standard 2009/563/EC, this standard mainly focuses on the requirements of limited substances, classifies the shoe materials, and sets corresponding limit requirements for different shoe materials. The standard setting is more detailed and more suitable for quality control of raw and auxiliary materials for rubber shoes.

According to Liu Lanling, secretary-general of the CRIA Rubber Shoes Branch, the Green Footwear Materials Limited Material Requirements series of group standards include five standards, respectively making limited material requirements for soles, rubber parts, adhesives, uppers and metal accessories.

It is understood that the Tire Grading Standards group standards formulated by CRIA won the title of “100 Group Standards Application Demonstration Projects” of the MIIT in 2017.
