Key Technology of SSBR Achieved Breakthrough

Recently, SSBR1040 (a special material for winter tire) and functional SSBR72612F technology successfully passed the pilot test in Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, and a breakthrough was made in the development of SSBR “bottleneck” key technology in China.

This technology was jointly developed by China Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Industry and Dushanzi Petrochemical Company. This important technical breakthrough not only provides strong technical support for the follow-up industrial tests, but also lays a good foundation for the localization of high-performance and functional SSBR and the solution of SSBR “bottleneck” key technical problem.

SSBR1040 has good low-temperature resistance, which is the best material for preparing snow tires as well as the brand that is urgently required at home but has not yet achieved industrialization. The joint research team has solved a series of technical problems by optimizing the coupling agent feeding method and other measures. After the pilot test verification of 38 batches, the produced product has stable Mooney viscosity, coupling efficiency and microstructure performance and the device runs smoothly, which marks the success of the brand verification of snow tire products.

SSBR72612F is the test task of the national project “Key Technologies for the Industrialization of High-performance Synthetic Rubber”. The functionalized SSBR can improve the anti-skid performance of the tires in the “magic triangle” by 20% and reduce the rolling resistance by more than 6%. The first pilot test of SBR72612F has a perfect start and the device runs smoothly, laying a good foundation for the successful completion of the national project.
