From October 13th to 15th, the 2021 National Rubber Reinforcement Material Market and Technology Forum and the 2021 Mid-term Rubber Reinforcement Professional Committee Member Conference were held in Chengdu.

Nearly 150 representatives from the rubber framework material industry and supporting enterprises, tire industry, research institutions, universities and colleges attended the meeting to seek common development and create a better future.

Lei Changchun, vice president and secretary-general of China Rubber Industry Association, gave a speech first, reporting the economic operation of the rubber industry from January to August. He said that during the critical period when the rubber industry is moving from a large manufacturing country to a strong manufacturing country, we are facing a significant increase in risks and challenges, such as increased international trade barriers, fluctuations in raw material prices, increased market competition, frequent mutations of the COVID-19, and the pressure of electricity limitation. I sincerely hope that the speakers will provide insights, and the participants will be able to brainstorm and jointly promote the high-quality development of the framework material industry.

In the speech report of "Current Development Status and Prospects of China's Tire Industry", Lei Changchun introduced the current development status and export situation of the tire industry. According to statistics, from January to August, the main economic indicators of 39 companies in the tire industry all achieved growth of about 15% to 20% (only a decrease of about 12% in profit indicators). Among them, the export delivery value increased by 17.20%. The volume increased by 21.04%. The continued recovery of the global economy has led to an increase in external demand, which has brought benefits to China's tire exports. At the same time, the development of the tire industry is facing pressures and challenges from the incremental market to the stock market, the complex export situation, the "Double Carbon" goal, power restriction, green environmental protection and so on.

Lei Changchun said that at present and for a considerable period in the future, the total production of China's tire industry will change from rapid growth to slight fluctuation; Transformation and upgrading, green and low-carbon, intelligence, high quality and high added value will be the direction of future development; Remove the surplus production capacity and truly move forward from a big tire country to a powerful tire country.

“Driven by the tire industry, the total output of skeleton materials from January to August was 3.181 million tons, an increase of 28.42%, achieving double-digit growth in line with the tire industry.” Chairman of the China Rubber Association Framework Material Professional Committee, Shandong Daye Co., Ltd. In his 2021 board work report, Chairman Dou Yong pointed out that since September, power supply has been tight and energy consumption has been double-controlled, and power curtailment and production suspension have swept many provinces. Jiangsu and Shandong, where the skeleton material industry is more distributed, have been severely affected, and some companies have been restricted to 30% of production. It is expected that the situation in the fourth quarter is still not optimistic.

Dou Yong said that in the context of severe challenges faced by domestic and foreign markets, framework material companies must adhere to all-round innovation, improve the level of intelligence and greening, strive to improve quality and efficiency, build a new development pattern, form a double cycle of domestic and foreign markets, improve core competitiveness and achieve low-carbon and high-quality development.
