Jiangsu-Kuo NBR JV breaks ground in Nanjing

Nanjing, China (Jul. 3, 2012) - A Mexican-Chinese joint venture has broken ground on a 60 kt/year nitrile rubber plant in Nanjing, China. The project is a 50-50 joint venture between Grupo KUO, S.A.B. de C.V. (Kuo), and Jiangsu GPRO Group Co. Ltd. (GPRO). The project is known as INSA GPRO (Nanjing) Synthetic Rubber Co. Ltd.

The joint venture will jointly invest US $60 million in a new plant located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, with an initial production capacity of 30,000 metric tons per year in its first phase. The Nanjing plant will create 100 direct jobs and is expected to begin operations by the beginning of 2014. Construction has now begun, following approval by Chinese authorities.
