China Commerce Ministry starts anti-dumping probe into EPDM imports

The dumping investigation period determined by this investigation is from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, and the industrial damage investigation period is from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2018.

The investigation period should normally be completed by June 19, 2020, and may be extended to December 19, 2020 under special circumstances.
The applicants for this survey are Jilin Petrochemical Branch of China Petroleum and Natural Gas Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Sinopec Sanjing Elastomer Co., Ltd. On May 8, 2019, the Ministry of Commerce received a formal application for anti-dumping investigation submitted by the applicant on behalf of the domestic EPDM rubber industry.

In 2017 and 2018, the total output of EPDM rubber of the two companies accounted for more than 50% of the total output of similar products in China during the same period.

The product is tariffed under items 40027010 and 40027090.

EPDM has good aging resistance, chemical resistance, low temperature resistance and dielectric properties. Therefore, it has a wide range of uses and can be used in construction, wire and cable, automobile industry, transportation and other fields.
